Formed in 1993 and incorporated in 1997, the Greater Philadelphia Clean Cities Program is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization composed of some of the largest governments, utilities, and non-profit organizations in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.  We are one of the  founding coalitions in the United States.

The Greater Philadelphia Clean Cities Program was the third organization to be designated under the U.S. Department of Energy's National Clean Cities initiative in 1993. Like other Clean Cities programs across the country, the GPCCP serves as a public/private partnership designed to promote the use and infrastructure for alternative fuel vehicles, or AFVs.  We support and facilitate the use of CNG, LPG, E85 (Ethanol) and Biodiesel fuels and hybrid vehicles.

Individuals and organizations interested in alternative fuels are invited to participate in all Clean Cities coalition activities, which include stakeholder meetings, training sessions, technical events, fleet manager workshops, public outreach, and media campaigns. The most up-to-date information on funding opportunities & incentives, legislation & regulations, Alternative Fuel Vehicle (AFV's) technologies and availability, infrastructure development, safety, and national & local successes are covered at local Clean Cities stakeholder meetings.

We are currently in the process of expanding our program to support the Eastern portion of Pennsylvania.  We feel that our reach should include all public and private fleets and municipalities in the eastern portion of the state. We will being changing the name of the program to reflect this expansion gaining valuable support from throughout the state.
